No on 48 campaign hits airwaves against egg amendment

The opposition group working to defeat proposed Amendment 48, which seeks to confer constitutional rights on fertilized eggs, has gone up on the radio between Top 40 hits and tanning salon promos to persuade young voters to can the measure.

The No on 48 campaign purchased two weeks of radio spots on a variety of Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo stations popular with targeted young first-time voters. The opposition coalition spokeswoman Crystal Clinkenbeard said the ads are timed to hit the airwaves when voters begin receiving mail-in ballots.

A series of television ads will follow in mid-October.
