Colorado Could Get Early Presidential Primary

Colorado may soon play a more vital role in choosing the next Democratic Presidential nominee.

Dan Slater, the first vice-chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, writes in his Dem Notes blog that tomorrow could bring big news in the efforts to create a new Western primary. The Democratic National Committee holds its Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) meeting tomorrow, and if all goes well, Colorado could be on the fast track to playing a significant role in choosing the next Democratic Presidential nominee:

It now seems quite certain that the RBC will place a Western state in the caucus position and a Southern state in the primary position. From what I can tell, the Southern state will likely be either South Carolina or Alabama.
