It’s been many, many years since Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family mastered the art of influencing laws – in Colorado alone does Amendment 2 jar anyone’s memory? (That would be the 1992 law to restrict gays and lesbians from seeking protected legal status, later ruled unconstitutional, during which the sponsors praised Focus for its donated “public service” radio ads, which were called “the crucial turning point for [the proponents’] whole campaign.”
