In red state-turned swing-state Colorado, Republicans have struggled to win election to top offices for years. In this year’s midterm election cycle, a slew of Republican candidates are vying to replace Democrats Mark Udall in the U.S. Senate and John Hickenlooper in the governor’s office. There are now eight Republican candidates running for Udall’s seat and there are six running to replace Hickenlooper. The frontrunners are familiar figures. Maybe too familiar.
