Friday fact: Colorado candidate calendars

Here’s our Friday afternoon pro-tip for Colorado candidates: Don’t put a calendar or event listing on your website if you don’t also list, like, actual events.

For example, take a look at GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo’s calendar. What does he have going on? Nothing, apparently. Not even the state GOP assembly next month.

Tancredo’s isn’t the only stark schedule. Apparently Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Polis has an empty datebook too, at least on the campaign trail.

Potential Polis competitor, Republican George Leing, is in a similar state of scheduling idleness.

Then there’s Mark Waller, one of two GOP candidates for attorney general. He did some events — but they were last summer.

Who’s booked, at least on paper? GOP gubernatorial candidate Mike Kopp will be putting in some mileage between in Colorado Springs, La Junta, Johnstown and more in the next several days.

You can find Greg Brophy, another Republican running for governor, in Pueblo, Alamosa, Larimer and other counties over the next week.

Gov. John Hickenlooper has gone another route with his campaign site has only an email signup, tiny social media links and a large, orange “contribute” button. (A little digging did turn up pages from 2010. Time for an overhaul?)

Another potential solution? Other GOP candidates for governor (there are so many of them!) Scott Gessler and Bob Beauprez don’t have event or calendar listings on their sites.

Our advice: If you don’t use it, lose it.
