Most folks thought it was an amusing and harmless enough anecdote about how Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter went to Washington and vowed to arm wrestle the new governor of Massachusetts for energy jobs.

But Ritter’s speech, to a group about 200 business, environmental and labor leaders at a meeting of the Apollo Summit, organized by the Apollo Alliance – which describes itself as a project organized to develop clean energy and good jobs – immediately drew the wrath of the Colorado Springs Gazette, which has warned the governor to “stop flirting with the far left.”“Who’s Ritter cuddling up with in the nation’s capital?” the Gazette demanded:*
