Gardner looks to end flood-relief politics with shiny-happy press release

A feel-good press release from the Cory Gardner for Senate campaign follows days of nastygrams from both the Gardner and Sen. Mark Udall campaigns regarding who did what and who ignored whom when the devastating floods hit Colorado last year. This is a bookend, we hope, to the totally positive, feel-good campaign video released last week by the Udall campaign that launched the dueling press release kerfluffle.

The release details Gardner’s legislative efforts and work with local officials and House colleagues, and reminds us that Gardner “never supported” the government shutdown led by House Republicans and orchestrated by Texas Senator Ted Cruz that hobbled relief efforts. This release might signal a pause in the debate. It won’t be the end.
