Hustled: We saw this coming

Remember President Obama playing pool with Gov. Hickenlooper at the Wynkoop Brewery earlier this summer? It’s now the centerpiece of a Republican Governors Association ad aimed at Colorado’s Democratic governor.

In a 30-second spot called “Hustled,” the ad, funded by the RGAColorado PAC, begins with the narrator noting that Hickenlooper is a “fun guy to shoot pool with” but can’t make “tough decisions.”

“He dropped the ball on mass murderer Nathan Dunlap and flip-flopped on gun rights. All while refusing to lead on immigration and critical tax relief,” the narrator continues as the camera shows bad pool shots at each point.

“Colorado’s been hustled enough,” says the narrator, who goes on to tout Republican Bob Beauprez for governor.

Eli Stokols at KDVR elaborates with some background on the ad, noting that other video from the same event was used in the primary to help Beauprez battle three challengers, including second-place challenger Tom Tancredo.
