Rebrands in the wind
Labor Day is behind us and, generally speaking, it’s that time in the campaign season when candidates go for a rebrand.
The Gardner campaign has recently released two new ads into this post-Labor Day universe. One touts his support for over the counter birth control. The other features Gardner standing next to some windmills as he speaks about reaching across the aisle to develop “all of the above” energy solutions.
But the real campaign revelation comes from a female voiceover at the end of the slot.
“Cory Gardner… a new kind of Republican,” she says. The shot pans away as Gardner treks across a vast plain alongside a man in a cowboy hat.
Fox’s Eli Stokols weighed in on this latest one-two punch from Gardner with the following:
