Chasing Light: Sunday morning

In late September, the best sunrise light is right around the same time I need to get my teenager out of bed and on his way to school, which means I can’t always be in a good photography spot during the week. But Sunday morning, with my family still deep in dreamland, I loaded up the dogs and headed for the Tenderfoot Trail, near Dillon, and positioned myself in the sweet-smelling sagebrush to to try and capture some of the autumn glow. Once again, I used my old Canon EOS with a Tamron zoom. It’s not the newest setup, but I inherited this equipment from my dad, who fostered my love for photography starting at an early age. Whenever I shoot with this camera, I always think of him, and how much he would have enjoyed the morning view.
