Pulitzer Finalists Leaked — Denver Post Cited

Editor and Publisher is reporting a leaked list of the likely 2007 Pulitizer Prize finalists.

The Denver Post is cited as a finalist “for a distinguished example of local reporting of breaking news, presented in print or online or both” in its coverage of blizzards.

So far, E&P has compiled a likely list of 10 of the 14 journalism finalist groups. These are compiled from multiple sources — based on chats with some judges and editors at some newspapers that received firm word — with at least two confirming their accuracy. E&P has been publishing these leaked lists for five years and they have proven to be very accurate in the past. However, as we always note: This is NOT official and mistakes can happen.

In addition to the famed gold medal, the winning entry also is awarded a $10,000 cash prize.

The Pulitzer Prize in journalism will be announced by Columbia University in April.

Hearty congratulations to the editors and staff of the Denver Post for being considered for one of journalism’s highest honors.
