Homebrew: Carroll vs. Coffman? Coffman vs. Bennet? Bennet vs. Whom? – Let the games begin

To fight?

Guess who’s thinking about hopping in line to play fisticuffs for Coffman’s U.S. House seat in the next election? State Senate Minority Leader Morgan Carroll. The big question: Will Coffman ditch his district to play fisticuffs with Sen. Michael Bennet for a bump up the political ladder or will Coffman play it safe (sort of) and fight it out on his home turf against Carroll? Via The Denver Post.

Bubble Bubble…

Want to buy a house in Denver? Well, good luck. ReColorado just put out a report and average home prices have broken the $400,000 ceiling. We hope you’ve been pinching your pennies. Via The Denver Post.

Garbage man

Speaking of homes, things aren’t looking too hopeful for some of the homeless people served by the Sister Mary Alice Murphy Center for Hope. Executive Director Mike Walker made a big booboo and threw out his clients’ stuff. Yep, now they’re not just missing their homes. They’ve lost their personal belongings too. Clients are outraged and Walker regrets the foible. “The whole incident is totally tragic and regrettable and was the result of an internal miscommunication,” Walker said to the Fort Collins Coloradoan. “We’re diligently looking for people who lost their stuff and trying to make them whole.”

Obvious choice

It’s not surprising to anybody: After running unopposed, Michael Hancock will serve another term as mayor. Via The Denver Post.

Oil slick

Frequent High Noon contributor Dan Haley has been chosen to lead the Colorado Oil and Gas Association in its fight for the oil industry. Congrats, Dan. We look forward to reporting about your work. Via The Denver Post.

Humpty Dumpty

The Gazette has stated the obvious in a recent headline: “Retaining wall that collapsed in southwest Colorado Springs not properly constructed.” Well, that seems about right.
