Denver City Council: Khalatbari lost; Kniech and Ortega still in
A few weeks ago, we brought you a story about former drug-dealer turned legal-pot mogul Kayvan Khalatbari who was running for City Council against incumbents Debbie Ortega and Robin Kniech.
Khalatbari promoted his campaign on Sexy Pizza pizza boxes. He pledged to donate his City Council salary to drug policy organizations. He vowed to address Denver’s housing boom/housing crisis and police violence.
Well, results are in: Khalatbari lost.
Kniesh and Ortega will keep sitting in their seats under the returning mayor, Michael Hancock.
