Six days later
Six days after the Aurora verdict, a man kills 3, including himself, and wounds 7 in a Louisiana theater. From witnesses, CNN reports, “The guy was just kind of at ease, just standing there, just shooting.” Another said that “there were gunshots after gunshots.”
Before Lafayette, Barack Obama told the BBC that he has been most frustrated by a failure to pass gun-safety legislation. He called the failure “distressing.”

Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails from when she was Secretary of State, The New York Times reports. The investigation would look into whether sensitive government information was mishandled by Clinton in her use of a personal email account.
