Mike Coffman – a favorite target of the Democratic establishment, a two-time Iraq War vet, and the chair of the Oversights and Investigations Committee on Veterans Affairs during the Aurora Veterans Affairs hospital scandal. Hard job
Denver sheriff’s deputies are going to be forced to work overtime starting this month until the department can fill 47 vacant positions, reports Kirk Mitchell in The Denver Post. This news comes on the heels of Denver’s District Attorney being reprimanded by a judge for failing to prosecute a deputy who attacked a shackled inmate in court.

The man who fatally shot a 14-year-old bow hunter Sunday morning has a hunting license, reports The Denver Post. The future of shooting guns on National Forest land has already been in question since a 60-year-old was gunned down in July.
