Homebrew: Gov. Hickenlooper endorses Morgan Carroll for U.S House

It’s probably not a big surprise to anybody following the 6th Congressional District race, but Gov. John Hickenlooper announced his support for Democratic candidate Morgan Carroll over current Rep. Mike Coffman – a favorite target of the Democratic establishment, a two-time Iraq War vet, and the chair of the Oversights and Investigations Committee on Veterans Affairs during the Aurora Veterans Affairs hospital scandal. Denver sheriff’s deputies are going to be forced to work overtime starting this month until the department can fill 47 vacant positions, reports Kirk Mitchell in The Denver Post. This news comes on the heels of Denver’s District Attorney being reprimanded by a judge for failing to prosecute a deputy who attacked a shackled inmate in court.
