Meet Amy Goodman. Support The Indy. Feed your soul.
We at The Indy aren’t in the business of giving advice. But if, in these tough times, you’re in need of some inspiration, some community, some food for the mind and soul, we strongly urge you to join us for a special VIP reception with Amy Goodman on Friday, April 7th.
The Colorado Independent is proud to co-sponsor the kickoff event of Amy Goodman’s and DemocracyNow!’s 2017 The Media Is Not The Enemy Tour. The event celebrates Democracy Now!’s 21st year producing one of the country’s most popular daily TV/radio/internet news hours, as well as the publication of the paperback version of Amy Goodman’s latest New York Times bestseller, Democracy Now!: 20 Years Covering the Movements Changing America.
She wrote the book with her brother, journalist David Goodman, and Democracy Now! colleague Denis Moynihan, a Denver resident, founder of KFFR 88.3 FM, community radio in Winter Park, and longtime friend of The Independent.
A $100 VIP ticket includes a reception with Amy, a copy of her new paperback and preferred seating at the talk. Trust us when we say Amy is worth listening to, especially now that journalism in the public interest is more needed than ever. We love this woman. She’s a national treasure.
The reception is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a talk by Amy from 7:30 to 9 p.m., both at Denver’s historic Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center, 721 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO., 80204.
Join us for an after-party right around the corner at the Denver Open Media building at 700 Kalamath, home of our newsroom.
The VIP reception is a joint event for The Colorado Independent, Denver Open Media and KFFR 88.3 FM, three of Colorado’s dynamic nonprofit media organizations. Please support us by joining us to celebrate the importance and power of independent media. You can buy your ticket here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2906217
See you on the 7th!
