Changes to Come for SOS Web Site

If you’ve ever tried to find information on the Colorado secretary of state’s Web site, then you know it’s not the easiest site to navigate – nor is it always accurate. Colorado Confidential reporters ran into a myriad of problems during last fall’s election season when trying to find campaign finance and lobbyist information. Reports were sometimes missing tens of thousands of dollars and others were simply not available online.

But soon Secretary of State Mike Coffman’s office could be making some big changes to the Web site.

More after the jump…“We’re going to be actively asking the General Assembly for funds for a complete overhaul of the Web site,” says SOS spokesman Jonathan Tee.

Tee says more information will be released later this week.

There have already been some changes since Coffman took office in January. The main page of the Web site allows users to sign up for an e-mail newsletter, and Coffman’s head appears to have shrunk since the original mugshot went up.
