29.5% of Denver Ballots Returned So Far

Denverites have had two things to procrastinate about this April.  First there was filing their taxes.  The deadline for that was an especially late April 17 this year.  Now that tax day has passed, many voters are still waiting until the last minute to return their ballots for the Denver City Election.

According to the Denver Election Commission, 55,820 ballots have been returned properly (some people don’t remember to sign the back of the ballot envelope).

That means 29.5% of ballots have been returned.  Of course, not all registered Denver voters got a ballot – only the “active” ones did.

Total turnout among all Denverites on the voter registration list, then, stands at 15.4%.
