The Denver Department of Human Services has received a federal boost when it comes to funding job training programs for veterans.
More than $27 million in job training grants have been awarded from the Department of Labor to service more than 16,000 veterans nationwide, and Denver has netted $299,622.The National Coalition For Homeless Veterans, a non-profit that focuses on the issue, estimates that there are nearly 4,000 homeless veterans in Colorado with approximately 100 funded beds being offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Wyoming Contractors Association also received $547,255 for programs in states like Colorado.
