Florence Supermax Makes 60 Minutes

Colorado’s most notorious prison will be getting a national spotlight this week, in a feature to appear on the television news program “60 Minutes”.The story on the  United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (Supermax) in Florence, Colorado is set to appear on the CBS program this coming Sunday at 6:00 pm, Mountain Standard Time.

60 Minutes was one of a handful or media outlets that gained access to the Supermax facility in a rare first-time tour that took place in early September.

Union officials representing correctional workers at the facility, who have also talked to program producers, say the series will look at staffing troubles and inmates.
