Top Donkey Tapped for Convention Mascot

Ralphie Runners: There may be a job waiting for you at the Democratic National Convention in Denver August 25-28.

Similar to the tradition of jogging Ralphie, the mascot bison at the University of Colorado, down the sidelines between halftime at home football games, the Democrats instead will have Mordecai the donkey to scurry down the aisles at the Pepsi Center.

Mordecai was chosen over nine other hopeful donkeys vying to become the top ass for the convention. The competition was held Saturday night at the National Western Stock Show during the Draft Horse and Mule show.

Mordecai is owned by Curtis Imrie from Buena Vista and was shown by Sophie Herzog of Fairplay.
