Pueblo Cliffhanger Update
The final count of the very close Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder race was a 3 vote lead for Bo Ortiz over Rick Palacio, and there are several dozen provisional ballots that have not yet been counted (and may or may not be counted) in the race.
The final count was:
Gilbert ”Bo” Ortiz — 3,331
Rick Palacio — 3,328
Oritz performed more strongly in absentee balloting, while Palacio performed better at the polls, suggesting that the provisional ballots may favor Palacio.
A race this close triggers a mandatory recount under state law.
