Colorado is getting national attention for its immigration-reform measures (see yesterday’s Gravy for more on that). The Los Angeles Times says that Colorado’s illegal immigration measures are a sign that momentum in the immigration debate favors the hard-liners. But Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff told the Times that the Colorado measures were a practical compromise. “We were not railroaded into passing anything that betrayed our principles,” he said.

Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo, meanwhile, trotted out his same tired old line about politicians addressing illegal immigration
