In his latest congressional campaign commercial, Secretary of State Mike Coffman points out there are no veterans of the war in Iraq serving in Congress, and of course, he’d like to change that by being elected to Colorado’s 6th Congressional District this fall.
Coffman is running against another Republican who has also served in Iraq, Marine colonel and state Senator Steve Ward. Also in the race to replace Tom Tancredo are Republicans state Sen. Ted Harvey and businessman Wil Armstrong.
In all at least 30 vets around the country are running for congress, according to USA Today.
A majority of those vets are Republican, according to a conservative group, Iraq Vets for Congress, supporting them and a "pro-victory" message for Iraq.
