Bennet’s one-word cable news answer: The power of the bland ‘yes’
John King on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning asked Colorado Democratic Senator Michel Bennet a loaded yes or no question: Would you support health-reform legislation if it meant losing your job? Bennet, his face unmoving, his shoulders still, his eyes trained on the host, his voice that same familiar monotone, said only: “yes.”
With Sarah Palin’s book tour in full swing and tea party forums fired up about preventing socialism and Rep. state Sen. Dave Schultheis tweeting about Obama flying the plane of state into the ground terrorist-style, Bennet’s anti-flash deadpan continues as the new charisma— his straightforward yes, an eloquent response to the politics of no.
