Aurora to help neighborhoods weather storm of foreclosures

Ideally, homeowners associations (HOAs) give property owners a little control over their community, but among the mortgage crisis’ many victims is that very sense of ownership and control in some Colorado communities.

In response to the glut of foreclosures, the City of Aurora is teaming up with the Community Associations Institute to teach HOA members how to stay well-informed and protect their neighborhoods’ interests as some of their neighbors lose their homes to foreclosure.

A free information session and round-table discussion will take place today at 6 p.m. in city council chambers at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway.
