Citizen-journalists prep for DNC

An estimated 15,000 professional journalists will descend upon Denver for August’s Democratic National Convention. But the big-shot media chumps aren’t the only ones preparing for the event.

Members of Colorado Indymedia, an organization devoted to "radical, accurate, and passionate tellings of truth" will be covering the DNC on its Web site. The organization has drafted a business card design for its citizen-journalists, directing them to personalize the cards. It also designed posters that read, "Don’t curse the media. Become the media!" and "Attention Media! The movement has its own media." You can see those designs and more here.

Local independent media outlets are also getting into the act as grassroots defenders of the Fifth Estate, as reported by Erin Rosa in Activists plan to become the media at DNC.
