Roan lawsuit rally a good excuse for a mountain road trip

If you just can’t wait for the Democratic National Convention for a good, old-fashioned protest — complete with bullhorns and over-the-top signs — and you’re also looking for any excuse to beat Denver’s record heat of late (likely caused by unchecked greenhouse gas emissions), then head up to the high country Wednesday for the Roan lawsuit rally in Glenwood Springs.

Local environmental activist, renewable-energy advocate and Toyota salesman Randy Fricke, founder of SAVE Colorado Now, is calling on all enviro-minded individuals to join him at the Bureau of Land Management office in Glenwood from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday to show support for green groups that have sued the BLM to block Roan Plateau oil and gas leases.

“Feel free to tell any of your environmental Democrat friends to participate,” Fricke wrote in an email. “And feel free to bring ‘Impeach Bush’ signs also.”
