President Bush on the economy: It’s drunk and hungover

President Bush will not go down in history well-known for his mastery of oratory skills.

That’s why it was no surprise the commander in chief was secretly recorded at a private Houston fundraiser last week saying:

“Wall Street got drunk, that’s one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras. It got drunk and it’s got a hangover. The question is how long it will sober up and not try and do all these fancy financial instruments.”

Bush, a Harvard MBA, asked the TV cameras be turned off before he spoke about what was wrong with the world’s second-largest economy because he was afraid some things he said would end up on YouTube.

Well, he was right.

After the video was played we couldn’t help but think of a certain Will Farrell sketch impersonating Bush as he explained global warming using oratory skills on par with trying to “do all these fancy financial instruments.”
