Bennet releases ad on the economy and small business

U.S. Senator Michael Bennet has released a third campaign ad, this one on the importance of enacting laws and writing policy that supports small businesses. It’s a powerful theme and Bennet seems to have looked into the matter: “Eighty percent of the jobs that are going to drag us out of this great recession are jobs that are going to be created by small business. But small businesses still can’t get access to credit, and if they can’t hire people, we’re never going to be able to address the unemployment rate.”

Small businesses need help. Yes. Too bad the ad is mumbly and so nonspecific!

Bennet can be a great speaker, strong, that is, in conveying actual information and ideas and conviction without employing the usual phony flash and faux drama that characterizes the style of so many politicians. Campaign ads deliver vague talking points over elevator music. It doesn’t have to be that way. Bennet is good at talking about details. It’s a unique quality. Maybe his camera people could catch him at 6 a.m. as he’s downing his coffee and cereal and going over legislative position papers.

“Hey Mikey, what do you make of that proposed financial consumer protection agency? Why should I care about that?”
