A proposal to reform the Denver Election Commission, already stripped of a core part of the original proposal, which was to replace the partially elected commission with an elected clerk and recorder, and of a replacement proposal to move election commissioner elections from May to November, was defeated by the Denver City Council yesterday.
The plan would have made Election Commission employees part of Denver’s civil service system, but was abandoned when about half of the election commission’s employees opposed the proposal.
