Senate chamber invaded by high school Zombie drummers

Zombie drummers from Northglenn High School rattled the Colorado Senate chamber Monday. Troupe members decked in black robes and white face performed an excerpt from their show “Dead Beats: Drums of the Dead,” pounding out beats between operatic interludes sung by a red-lipped zombie leader. What did it mean? Can’t say for sure. Maybe that big spender Democrats march unthinkingly to the tune of Zombie leader Obama? Or maybe that undead over-the-hill Republicans vote enthralled by the ideology of the Reagan carcass? Insert your preferred political reading here. Video after the jump.

Democratic Senator Lois Tochtrop brought in the band. Under the direction of Dave Martin and Band Director Jason T. Buckingham, the group won a state first prize and placed eighth in a world competition this year at the Winter Guard International competition in Dayton, Ohio. They also won a “Fan Favorite Award” of World Class ensembles at the same show.

Christian conservative Republican Senator Dave Schultheis may or may not have been praying for the drummers’ lost souls.
