Maes on MSNBC says bike sharing just ‘one piece of a larger UN program’

Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes went on MSNBC Monday to explain his view that Denver’s bike-sharing program, B-Cycle, was part of a larger strategy of UN control.

Maes said he was just trying to differentiate himself from Democratic gubernatorial candidate and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper ahead of today’s Republican primary with former GOP Congressman Scott McInnis.

“When the mayor signs onto a program that is sponsored by the United Nations that should bring concern to people as to how that program may or may not be compatible with our constitution,” he said. He added that he had no problem with B-Cycle “in and of itself,” and said he “rode the seat off” his mountain bike.
