AP reports Buck first lead over Norton

With 58 percent of counties reporting, AP lists Buck as taking a 51 percent to 49 percent lead in the GOP U.S. Senate primary. Roughly 300 people have filed into the ballroom in Loveland and they let out a room-rocking cheer when the AP tally just flashed on the screen showing Buck’s first lead of the night.

The crowd includes people in suits, like state Broomfield GOP Sen. Shawn Mitchell, and people in shorts and oversize T-Shirts. There are also supporters in ten-gallon stetsons and cowboy boots proudly crusted no doubt with Weld County bullshit not DC bullshit.

The lead is the same with 61 percent now reporting. Almost no reaction to that information.

On the Democratic side, with 61 percent reporting, AP flashes that Sen. Michael Bennet is now leading Andrew Romanoff 54 percent to 46 percent of the vote.
