Maes rolls out TV ad, garners support from Steele
Dan Maes rolled out a new television ad Thursday that was set to begin running in select markets today. The low budget ad has Maes standing outside pledging to roll back natural gas regulations, cut taxes and reduce government spending. He also challenges his supporters to “tell my opponent that the political games are over.”
No mention as to which opponent he’s referring to, but one can guess.
Also, Thursday, National GOP Chairman Michael Steele was in town campaigning for Maes. He urged state Republicans to support their nominee and said that if they did, Maes could still win the election.
The Tancredo campaign responded by telling KDVR-TV that “Maes is dead in the water and Michael Steele knows it.”
Speaking at a candidate’s forum Thursday in Denver, Maes talked about the fact that he had earned the Republican nomination despite spending very little money.
“Who better to run the state than the guy who spent only $150,000 and won the primary election when others spend millions.”
