Buck: there is no separation of church and state
In the “you can’t make this up department,” we found this video today on Colorado Pols, provided to them by Think Progress, of Republican senate candidate Ken Buck saying he doesn’t believe in the separation of church and state. The comments were made during a debate late in 2009.
Even more fun, he gets a big applause line by criticizing President Barack Obama for renaming the White House Christmas Tree as the Holiday Tree, which as you will see in a second video of Obama lighting last year’s Christmas tree isn’t exactly true.
Both videos are posted after the jump.
Just to be sure, we also called the White House, where a press aide roundly denied any renaming of Christmas in the White House.
We also checked out www.factcheck.org, which also refuted the renaming of the tree.
