Clinton Era Roadless Rule Reinstated

A week after the state’s roadless task force gave Governor Owen their recommendation on roadless areas in Colorado’s national forests, a Federal judge has reinstated the Clinton era rule that limits development in roadless areas. In California, U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Laporte said that the federal government failed to do environmental studies before giving states the power to create their own management guidelines for new roads on federal land.
