What middle? On stump, Tanc stays right, references hardliners Brewer, Christie

Right-wing icon and American Constitution Party candidate Tom Tancredo is not looking to woo moderate voters in these last hours before Election Day. On the stump this weekend he all but flipped the bird to the Denver Post editorial board for writing an unprecedented editorial attacking him as an extreme choice for voters and just plain bad for Colorado.

Conservative Business Word blogger Donald Johnson posted video of the Tanc telling a cheering crowd in Northern Colorado Saturday that he would seek to team with controversial governors Chris Christie in New Jersey and Jan Brewer in Arizona to mount a states rights “10th Amendment” revolution.

“One of the first things I’m going to do is I’m going to pick up the phone, after I’m elected [governor], and call a guy by the name of Chris Christie in New Jersey. I’m going to say, ‘Chris, now hang on here.’ And to make this work, I’m going to try to conference in somebody else. And then I’m going to try to put the Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona on the line. ‘Listen, listen, governors, I’ve got to tell you, I’ve got a little proposition to make here.’

“And maybe by then there will be, who knows, three or four other governors that feel likewise about this. I’m going to say, ‘Let’s do this, why don’t we do this? Because none of us – I can’t do it alone. I don’t think anybody here can. But all of us together, wouldn’t it be great if together we started the 10th Amendment revolution in the United States of America.’”

Christie and Brewer have made news as far-right office holders. Christie has come under fire for his ideological budget plans and Brewer for pushing and passing SB 1070, the tough immigration bill passed early this year that spawned cries of racial profiling and unconstitutionality and that was enjoined in part by the U.S. attorney general.
