VIDEO: James Mejia unveils new TV ad

Denver mayoral candidate James Mejia this week released a new ad.

Mejia is the only candidate running ads in both Spanish and English and on both Spanish-language and English-language television stations. Moreover, his campaign says he is the only candidate using only local firms to produce and place the advertisments.

The ad emphasizes education, making the point that he all of his dozen siblings graduated from college. Mejia is a former member of the Denver School Board and has also served as CEO of the Denver preschool program.

Scot Kersgaard has been managing editor of a political newspaper, editor and co-owner of a ski town newspaper, executive editor of eight high-tech magazines (where he worked with current Apple CEO Tim Cook), deputy press secretary to a U.S. Senator, and an outdoors columnist at the Rocky Mountain News. He has an English degree from the University of Washington. He was awarded a fellowship to study internet journalism at the University of Maryland's Knight Center for Specialized Journalism. He was student body president in college. He spends his free time hiking and skiing.
