Cory Voohris, the federal immigration official who allegedly provided confidential crime database information to Bob Beauprez’s gubernatorial campaign that was used in a commercial, has hired a lawyer. For his possible role in “Beauprez-Gate,” Voorhis has retained the services of former federal prosecutor, William Taylor.Beauprez has said that neither he nor his campaign has done anything wrong. Voohris, however, could be facing penalties and perhaps prison time for accessing the Federal Bureau of Investigation data base information for reasons other than law enforcement activities.
