Latest Palin tell-all: More of the same ugly
Frank Bailey was Sarah Palin’s aide and he was her heavy. He played a role in “Troopergate,” for example, working behind the scenes to get Palin’s ex-brother-in-law, state trooper Mike Wooten, fired after Wooten divorced Palin’s sister. Now Bailey is riddled with regret. He says Palin was not the political breath of fresh air he thought she was. She’s self-concerned and ambitious and a prima donna. She wrote glowing letters to the editor about herself, has a fake tan, and can’t be bothered to stick to a schedule. Bailey doesn’t like Palin. His book, “Blind Allegiance,” appears to add flesh to the Palin persona, but there doesn’t seem to be much new here. Palin haters won’t be surprised by any of it. Palin lovers won’t care. But the U.K. Daily Mail loves it.
Why not? Political writers relish any kind of “scathing tell all” — especially one about Sarah Palin and one that includes details like that Todd jealously scours his wife’s emails and that Sarah walks around the house in an open robe. What really gets the Daily Mail writers going, though, is the fact that, despite it all, Palin’s name manages still to be floating around the top of the pack of potential 2012 GOP presidential candidates in public opinion polls– and that is a story, at least until Donald Trump stages his phony “comeback” to the field of candidates he never really entered in the first place.
The Daily Mail headline:
‘Getting Sarah to meetings was like nailing Jell-O to a tree’: Ex Palin aide releases scathing ‘tell all’ book (and she’s top of the GOP polls)
