Chauncey Billups stumps for Hancock
NBA star Chauncey Billups will join Denver mayoral candidate Michael Hancock Saturday for a get out the vote push.
“As sons of Denver, Michael and I have always tried to set an example and give back to the community,” Billups said in a press release. “We’ve both worked hard to make a difference in Denver, especially in the lives of at-risk youth. Now it’s time for the voters of Denver to make a difference by turning in their ballots and electing Michael Hancock as the next mayor of Denver.”
“We are down to the final four days, and to have my friend and Denver’s homegrown basketball hero in my court is a high honor,” Hancock said.
You can meet Billups Saturday, June 4, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the City of Axum Park at Martin Luther King Blvd. & Cherry St. in Denver.
Billups grew up in Park Hill, played basketball at George Washington High School, CU, and for the Denver Nuggets twice before being traded to the New York Knicks this past season.
