David Von Drehle writes in Time that the Passover-eve shootings at the Jewish Community Center in suburban Kansas City were obviously a hate crime. The police, he says, are being professionally cautious, but notes that “if history teaches anything, it’s the sad fact that when a gunman seeks out a Jewish center and opens fire, the motive is hate of an ancient vintage.”
