Who’s in the Line of Sight at the Rocky Mountain News?

Sandra Fish and Brian Conway contributed to this story.

Word of the Rocky Mountain News’ buyout offer for long-time staff fueled speculation about who may be on the “voluntary” chopping block.

Colorado Confidential’s research found some familiar and well-respected names among the list.Associate managing editors Dennis Dressman and Jim Trotter appear to be of age.

Business editor Rob Reuteman qualifies, as do architecture critic Mary Voelz Chander, TV critic Dusty Saunders and movie critic Robert Denerstein.

It’s possible the editorial board of Vince Carroll, Peter Blake and Linda Seebach would qualify – but would any of them go?

Computer-assisted reporting whiz Burt Hubbard would be a huge loss if he took the package.

Metro desk reporters Lou Kilzer, Gary Massaro and Jean Torkelson would qualify too.

And baseball beat great Tracy Ringolsby could probably take the money and run to, say, ESPN.

What names are we missing? More to come.
