Inclement weather forces Salazar to cancel meetings

Looks like democrat Sen. Ken Salazar will miss his goal of visiting all sixty-four Colorado counties in 2008 with the cancellation of several community forums this week due to frigid temperatures and predictions of heavy snowfall.

The senator’s office issued the notice Sunday afternoon urging citizens to stay home and stay safe when temps dipped to minus 14-degrees yesterday.

The postponed meetings include:

Monday
Fort Morgan, La Junta, Trinidad and Alamosa

Tuesday
Cortez, Grand Junction and Steamboat Springs

Wednesday
Aspen and Granby

Salazar spokesman Matt Lee-Ashley left no word on when the forums to discuss progress reports on regional priorities would be rescheduled.
