The Club 20 “Society Photo Page”

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingActivities in the halls and meeting rooms at the Club 20 Fall Meeting in Grand Junction last week were just as informative and entertaining as the debates. Here’s some of what was said, heard and seen….

Governor candidate Bill Ritter prepares for an TV interview. He came early as did his Republican opponent, Bob Beauprez, to “work the halls.” The gubernatorial debate was schedule later in the evening.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingFormer congressman, Scott McInnis and Club 20 chairwoman, Kathy Hall go over last minute details for the CD 3 debate between US Rep. John Salazar and challenger Scott Tipton. Other than moderating the debate, McInnis kept his Club 20 appearance low-key.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingRepublican Mesa County Commissioner, Craig Meis (left) and Democratic Montrose Commissioner, Bill Patterson share a joke before a debate.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Candidate for SD 5, Gail Schwartz from Snowmass and Secretary of State candidate, Ken Gordon exchange views about water issues. Gordon was pretty perky despite the fact he had arrived in Grand Junction about 1 a.m. and had to drive another hour to find a motel room.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Republican Lt. Governor candidate, Janet Rowland listens intently to a constituent. She did not have a speaking role in the debates. Rowland is also a Mesa County commissioner.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Former Democratic SD 8 candidate, Jay Fetcher from the Steamboat area and Rep. Kathleen Curry (D-61) from Gunnison chat in between SD debates. Both raise cattle.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingCall out the “fashion police!” State Senator Ron Teck (R-7) is probably a good 6’5. That makes his tie about three feet long.
