The Students’ State of the Union

Several journalism students at Metropolitan State College of Denver were asked to weigh in on the following: What topic that should be raised will be left out of the President’s State of the Union address? Here are their responses:

I think President Bush will either avoid the topic of New Orleans completely, or he will try to hold up the so-called successes there as a beacon of his administration’s domestic achievements and its willingness to move boldly and progressively into the future. In reality New Orleans is a beacon of his administration’s failures and the reality of decades of failed social and economic policies perpetrated by both sides of the aisle.
