Colorado Reviving the Sagebrush Rebellion?

The “Sagebrush Rebellion” that championed state rights against the federal government was a Republican conservative faction back in the 1970’s and again in the 1980’s. However, in Colorado today, it is a movement that is crossing from the political left to the middle of both parties leaving the conservatives to defend the actions of the White House.

In the previous conflicts, some Westerners were trying to wrestle local control over federal lands, such as bulldozing gates to access national forests for cattle grazing and water. Today’s issues are ironically a flip from the past-local Colorado citizens and elected officials are trying to prevent the federal government from doing the bulldozing on public and private land.In this new Sagebrush Rebellion III, unlikely participants come from a wide range of locales and issues.
