Breaking: Shots Fired At Capitol

The Rocky Mountain News is reporting that shots were fired at the state capitol in Denver today at about 2:15 p.m. An armed man was shot and killed near Governor Ritter’s office.  They report that:

[A] man with a gun walked into Gov. Bill Ritter’s office and yelled, “I am the emperor. I am here to take over state government.”

It appears that no one else was physically injured.  State troopers appear to have filed the killing shot.  It isn’t clear if the man was able to fire any shots before he was killed.
