Giving Thanks, 70s Style

This Thanksgiving, there are many, many things for which to give great thanks. High on that list is a JC Penney catalog, circa 1977, a reminder of numerous items that I am very, very grateful not to be expecting under the Christmas tree.

I am so thankful that my family will not be sitting down to a big turkey dinner at this table, which even though it cost $399 thirty years ago still looks, as one observant wag noted, like it’s made out of old whiskey barrels.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I’m thankful that the fella and I aren’t spending the weekend lounging around in matching white Stretch Terry Jumpsuits.

I am so very thankful that I will not glance out the window and see my neighbor doing yard work, in this.

I am thankful I will not be purchasing this shirt for any of my brothers-in-law (and my sisters are thankful, too.)

I’d almost forgotten about toilet clothes, sort of like toaster covers, only lots germier. I’m thankful for that.
